About

Nambucca Psychology - Claire Latham

Nambucca Psychology is owned by Claire Latham, an experienced female Registered Psychologist providing individual therapy for young people and adults. She has a special interest in working with young people, LGBTQ+ people and women.

Her therapeutic approach is eclectic (using various approaches and techniques from different therapy styles) because she works with the whole person, focused on each individual's needs. Not all therapeutic approaches are right for everyone, so Claire will work with you to discover how you make sense of the world, what impact your values and history have on your treatment needs, and the time, urgency and severity of the situation.

The underpinning approaches that Claire bases her treatment on are Psychoeducation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and some elements of Gestalt, Narrative and Internal Family Systems therapies. You can read more about the different types of therapy here

You can read more about the types of Psychologists at the Australian Psychological Society's website - link here. It is important that you are informed and feel confident that you are making the right choice for your needs.
